FEATURE FRIDAY: RED BRICK

Hi folks!  We are back after a two week unplanned hiatus from feature friday following our trip.   Between the mountain of business admin and a couple of fun photography projects currently in the works (we'll be sharing soon) time has been a highly desirable commodity around here.

But life's like that for most of us right and as Grandad taught me you've just got to get on with it!

So this feature friday it is all about red brick which forms such an integral part of heritage architecture.  Looking back on our April feature all four businesses profiled had exposed red brick interior walls and we are big fans,  such a textural, warm dimension as a backdrop to other elements.

This wee brick beauty is a church in Gisborne and was the stunning setting for a special wedding Nick took in early May for some good friends.

Interesting fact: when your husband is a photographer with an interest in architecture he returns from weddings with many photos of the church/reception venue etc but if i was hoping for any people shots well nope i was out of luck.

While I lucked out on people photos he did return with a large stash of avocados which are like gold down here in the south courtesy of his fabulous air bnb hosts Maureen & Barry at Pecan Grove Homestay.

"Architecture starts when you carefully put two bricks together,   there it begins."

Signing off for this week and hoping you all have a fun and relaxing weekend!
