POSHTEL PROJECT

P O S H T E L P R O J E C T

126 Thames Street, Oamaru

One of the most rewarding jobs worked on this year would have to be our late summer project for newly opened boutique hotel Poshtel in Oamaru.

Kiriana Glasson, creative director of Chch based design agency - Glue Creative was working with the team at Poshtel on digital design and brand development and made contact with Nick to ascertain his interest in working on the photography for the project. In a fortuitous stroke of luck (for us) images from a summer visit to Oamaru had been spotted by the managers of Poshtel who were keen with the owner to involve Nick in the photography aspect of their visual content.

A comprehensive brief was provided by Kiriana which included a videography component and working with local talent on some of the hotel scenes. Attention to detail was critical for the videography and it was important that content would blend seamlessly with the photographs and really capture the essence of the space. Wellington based videographer (and friend) Vernon Hoff was available and keen to work with Nick on the job and what an interesting location it was to point a camera at.

Owner Phillip McNicholl has gone to great lengths to create luxury accommodation that showcases a heritage building but also connects it with the wider community and landscape of Oamaru, New Zealand. Put simply it was a unique and special project to be part of, working alongside managers Lindsay and Delaine, the talented Kiriana (Glue Creative) and the many friendly locals whose participation ensured a successful result.
